Hey fellow gardeners! Please don't cut your zinnia Hey fellow gardeners! Please don't cut your zinnia flowers for seed saving until the seeds are ripe. I've seen people cutting and drying them, but if the seeds aren't mature, they won't germinate. Let them dry on the plant, then collect the seeds when they're dry and brown.

Zinna seeds should only be collected from flowers that have dried on the plant to ensure viability. Be patient. It will be worth it!
