Hot and getting hotter! If you still have spring lettuce in the ground, it's time to harvest it all. Hot temperatures will turn it bitter. Water thoroughly the evening before and harvest first thing in the morning. If you're growing a heat-tolerant variety, give it some shade! #thecoeurdalenecoop #lettuceharvest #springlettuce #lastlettucetilfall ... See MoreSee Less

No bare ground and lots of plant diversity, that's No bare ground and lots of plant diversity, that's what I have in my raised beds. Here's a look at bed #2, 12 by 4. Strawberries own the front 4 feet, but the remaining is stuffed with cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, onions, and potatoes, plus borage, calendula, and zinnias to keep the pollinators happy!
