Growing Great Garlic: From Clove to Cure

New Gardening Class for Fall 2026

Discover how easy and rewarding it is to grow your own garlic! This class covers everything you need to know, from choosing the best varieties for our northern climate to planting, growing, harvesting, curing, and storing your crop.

You’ll also learn the differences between hardneck, softneck, and elephant garlic, how to harvest delicious garlic scapes, avoid common mistakes, and select seed garlic for future harvests.

Whether you’re planting your first cloves or looking to grow bigger, more flavorful bulbs, you’ll leave ready to grow your best garlic yet.

Candace Godwin, Certified Idaho Master Gardener & Owner of The Coeur d’Alene Coop, a seasonal micro-nursery in Coeur d’Alene. Candace starts over 2,000 plants from seed each year.
