Pansy – Swiss Giant

$5.00

Heirloom, Splash of Early Season Color!

Spring blossoms bring a splash of color to the garden. Swiss Giant is the parent to most of the pansies available today. Bushy, 6 to 9 inch plants produce large, velvety flowers in a mix of colors including blue, purple, yellow, apricot, orange, mahogany, red, white, and bi-colors. Most have “faces” or are blotched. Edible petals can be used to garnish soft cheese or baked goods. Cool-season flower grows in full sun to part shade. Deer resistant and frost tolerant perennial in zones 6 and up; often grown as an annual, reseed readily. Swiss heirloom and a 1933 All-America Selections winner. Sold in 4 inch pot.

The Coeur d'Alene Coop

I'd rather be down and dirty in the soil any day than in code snippets and CSS. Now, I will turn my attention to something I really like... baking! Time for some cranberry orange shortbread cookies and chocolate-dipped orange biscotti. 🍊🍊 I need this and a large glass of wine. 😂 ... See MoreSee Less

I'm a bit tardy in posting these carrot photos, bu I'm a bit tardy in posting these carrot photos, but here are the gems I harvested just before Thanksgiving. They were in the last bed to be prepped for winter. Planted in mid-July, I managed to save them throughout the raised bed rebuild. I'm happy to say 1) the carrots are delicious, and 2) all beds are finally put to bed for the winter. No more hauling soil...time for a rest!
