Coeur d’Alene Coop Greenhouse

Come browse healthy, locally grown plants and take home cool-season crops ready for your garden beds, raised beds, and containers.

What You’ll Find at the Spring Fling Plant Sale

These plants actually love cool weather. Many can go into the garden weeks before warm-season crops like tomatoes and peppers. Expect a great selection of early-season favorites, including:

🥬 Cool-Season Vegetables: These are the crops that kick off the gardening season in our region: Lettuce, onions, shallots, leeks, peas, broccoli, chard, and spinach.

🌿 Culinary Herbs: Fresh herbs make everything better, and many thrive in spring temperatures. Look for varieties like thyme, savory (summer & winter), mints (licorice, spearmint, horehound), and other early-season herbs. Perfect for kitchen gardens, patio containers, and herb beds.

🌼 Early Spring Flowers: A few hardy blooms are joining the party too: pansies, bee balm, sweet peas, cottage pinks, yarrow, and more. These bring early color to the garden and support spring pollinators.

🪴 Upcycled Planters: One of the most fun parts of Spring Fling! We’ll also have a collection of upcycled containers planted with herbs and flowers — perfect for:

  • porch or patio décor
  • unique gifts for gardeners
  • Mother’s Day surprises
  • or keeping for yourself (no judgment here)

Every container is a little different and full of personality.

Why Start with Cool-Season Plants?

Cool-season vegetables and herbs are built for spring. They grow beautifully in the cooler temperatures of early garden season and often produce long before summer crops even get started. Planting early crops like lettuce, peas, onions, and spinach means:

✔ earlier harvests
✔ better flavor
✔ a longer gardening season
✔ and a head start on your garden success

For gardeners in North Idaho and Eastern Washington, these crops are the perfect way to begin the season.

Grown with Care at The Coop

All plants at The Coeur d’Alene Coop are grown right here using organic growing practices and high-quality seed starting mixes designed to produce strong, healthy seedlings.

Many of our plants are grown from organic seed, and every plant is started with careful attention to soil health and early root development. The result? Plants that establish quickly and grow beautifully once they reach your garden.

Join Us for Spring Fling

If you’re ready to kick off the gardening season early, come visit the greenhouse and celebrate spring with us. Browse cool-season crops, explore unique planted containers, and take home something green to start the season right.

Let's have a peek in the Coop's Growing Garage.
