Kootenai County Farmer’s Market Opens Saturday!

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

kootenai county farmers marketAm I the only person who sings this Andy Williams Christmas tune in May?  The opening of the Kootenai County Farmer’s Market is akin to Christmas for me — the anticipation that’s been building since March, wondering if it will snow, and finding the perfect “present” under those huge white pines.  If you live in north Idaho, you know I’m not kidding about the snow!

This year however, the weather is looking to be glorious for the May 12th season opener.  We go every year and while I certainly don’t need to buy tomato plants, I’m certain to come back with something to tuck in the garden…or at least a freshly baked loaf of bread!

Supporting your local Farmer’s Market is a great way to support local, small businesses, not to mention a great way to get locally grown plants, super fresh veggies and fruit and wonderful homemade goodies and crafts.

Hope you see you this Saturday at the corner of Highway 95 and Prairie Ave. in Hayden or on Wednesday evenings in downtown Coeur d’Alene at 5th and Sherman.
