Green Tomato Cake

It’s amazing, it’s October 15th and our garden is still going strong.  We’ve been laying plastic sheeting over the tomatoes for the last two nights, but so far we haven’t had any frost. What is she up to now? Germination testing, of course! I saved quite a few seeds this summer, and I want to ensure they are viable for next season. I'd say this is a yes! If you saved garden seeds this year or acquired some from friends, it's a good idea to run a quick Germination test. It's better to know now than be disappointed in spring. You can sow in seed starting mix, as I have done here, or place seeds in damp paper towels inside a baggie. And no, as much as I would like to, these seedlings will not be grown out - they're headed to the compost bin. 🫤#thecoeurdalenecoop #seedtesting #germinationtest #planningforspring ...
