The first order of business was to get the girls (our six beautiful hens) moved to a new, but temporary, location in the yard….

The Midtown Chicken Ranch is undertaking two major construction projects this summer! After nearly 5 years of no remodeling/construction we are once again tearing things up – in the back yard, front yard and in the house. The fun starts May 1st. Who says you can't grow big beefsteaks in North Idaho? Witness Potato Leaf Yellow, (seeds from Epic Tomato man and friend, Craig LeHoullier Craig LeHoullier ), planted in late May, harvested this beauty on August 22. My second year growing this variety and once again, it is a winner with more fruit hanging on the vine. Weighing in at 1 pound 9 ounces, every ounce is sweet and delicious. What a 🥓🥬🍅 she is going to make!Put this tomato on your list for next year's garden. Plants exclusively from The Coop. 🍅#thecoeurdalenecoop#potatoleafyellowtomato#blt#heirloomtomatoes#tomatolover ...

I write a gardening newsletter once or twice a month — real advice from my own garden and greenhouse. No spam. Just plants (and sometimes, chickens).
