Huffington Post Highlight’s Blog Post

The Huffington Post Features CdA Coop Garlic Scape Recipe

The Coeur d’Alene Coop had the honor of being featured in the Huffington Post’s Kitchen Daily last Friday for an article about garlic scapes.  The HuffPost was doing a round-up of garlic scape recipes and wanted to use my photo which was featured in my own post about garlic scapes last Monday.

Garlic Scape Pesto The Coeur d'Alene Coop

This image of Garlic Scape Pesto, along with the recipe, was featured in the Huffington Post.

I’m still giddy about it — it’s not everyday that you are contacted by an on-line publication that gets 15.6 million page views a day!  In addition to using the photo (which is the first image in their slide show), they also directed readers to the CdA Coop for the garlic scape pesto recipe (which is simple to make and oh so delicious).

Some may say it was pure luck, but as a marketing professional, I know it took more than luck for The Coeur d’Alene Coop to land in front of a garlic scape searching Huffington Post editor.  It was a nice validation of my marketing efforts and a great honor to me and my blog.

Yeah…it’s easy to recognize great beauty…you have it on the inside, too. Congrats and thanks for my tomato plants, they are doing pretty well considering our crazy weather this year.

I haven’t tried the recipe yet, I don’t have garlic in my garden…thinking about some lily pads in a kiddy pool…lol

Thank you for your blog…I love it.

      Hi Lee,

Thanks for your kind words. I’m glad to hear your tomatoes are doing well – the recent heat wave was just what we needed; I think mine jumped up a foot! Seeing lots of greenies – that’s a good sign.

Thanks for following the blog and keep me posted on how your tomatoes are doing!

Leeks are transplanted! YAY!! This is a very time-consuming task, one thread-like leek plant into one cell of a 6 pack x 288 -- but I got 'er done. Two varieties this year: Autumn Giant, a beautiful, large, late-season leek (can over-winter if well mulched), and King Richard, an early season leek (75 days) and cold-hard to 20 degrees. Hard to imaging these wispy seedling will grow into thick, flavorful stalks -- oh, but they will! Want some for you garden?
